We’re excited to introduce Louise as our February Client of the Month!

Louise has been part of our Reformer Pilates community for an incredible seven years, and her dedication is truly inspiring. She balances Pilates with both running and golf, and her commitment has led to some amazing achievements including completing three half marathons and a full marathon in the past two years!

We asked Louise to share a bit about her experience, and here’s what she had to say:

What initially brought you to Reformer Pilates, and what has kept you committed for seven years?

My sister bought me a voucher for my birthday, and I loved Reformer from day one. No two classes over the past seven years have been the same!

How has Pilates complemented your running and golf performance?

Reformer has definitely helped build strength in my arms, core, and legs. When it comes to running especially longer distances you need that strength to keep going.

What do you enjoy most about Reformer Pilates compared to other types of training?

I don’t enjoy lifting heavy weights, but with Reformer, you are constantly building strength and muscle in a much more enjoyable way.

Have you noticed any improvements in your strength, flexibility, or injury prevention since starting Pilates?

So much more strength in my legs, core, and upper arms (still a work in progress!). I’ve had no running injuries, which I believe is thanks to Reformer. The techniques for warming up and stretching post-workout have been invaluable. It has also improved my posture after years of working at a computer and neck and shoulder pain is far less frequent now.

How has Pilates helped with your running technique or endurance?

The stretching before and after, combined with the endurance gained from stronger legs, has made a huge difference.

What is one achievement in Pilates that you are especially proud of?

Keeping it up for seven years and still learning!

If you could give one piece of advice to runners or golfers considering Pilates, what would it be?

Just go for it! It only adds benefits especially for golfers and runners and helps protect all those important joints.

What do you love about the studio environment and instructors?

Everyone is so friendly and professional. Our Thursday morning group helps motivate each other, too. I’ve also had a few physio sessions and have been so impressed with their knowledge and ability.

Louise’s journey is a great reminder of the strength, resilience, and community that Pilates can bring. Thank you, Louise, for being such a valued part of our studio!
